What to do Before Reaching Out to Expired Listings

You’ve prospected, you’ve obtained leads, and now you’re ready to reach out. Before contacting your New York leads, it is critical your online presence is up to date. More likely than not, you won’t get connected with the homeowner on the first shot so you’ll leave an email or voicemail. The homeowner now has the opportunity to look you up online, so it is of the utmost importance to make sure your digital image is accurate and current for prospective Brooklyn and Manhattan clients. Need some help on where to start on this? We’ve got your back:

Headshot

One of the first parts of your website to grab your client’s attention will be your headshot and marketing logo. A headshot should look professional. This means you need a clear image, a plain background (so it doesn’t distract), and is an individual picture of yourself. Steer clear of using images from family weddings or other formal events where you will need to crop people out of the photo as this does not look professional. Living in New York, there are many photographical brick buildings to use as a background. A marketing logo adds to your credibility as a realtor. If you’re not connected with a real estate company and do your own work, consider creating a logo for your own company.

Resume / Biography

This needs to be as current as possible. List large accomplishments and be sure to highlight your personality for your future clients. Homeowners will look here to see if you have the credentials it takes to sell their home.

References / Testimonials

It is a good practice to ask all of your clients for a review. If people were pleased with your communication skills and professional demeanor, they’ll be sure to let you know. This goes a long way for other homeowners, especially if they’re on the fence about giving a stranger a shot at selling their home. This section will give you credibility as a realtor.

Social Media

First, make sure your website links to all social media accounts you’re active on and that each of those accounts lists your website as well. Only link your active accounts because it will show your potential client that you are engaged in the digital world and that you are knowledgeable in the real estate world. On your social platforms, be sure to post articles, write articles, and post success stories of finding your clients their forever home. Images attract more attention than regular text, so post graphics and photos for your audience.
