Revamp Your Expired Listing Selling Strategy for 2021

The new year brings in a new energy for everyone because of the “fresh start” mentality. Agents, now is your time to shine in selling those Manhattan expired listings from the past year. Here are a few ways to revamp your selling strategy this New Years.

Send a Card/E-Mail

Dust off your address book and get reacquainted with old friends. It’s the perfect time to reach out! Send out a card for the new year, wishing them well and asking to get in touch.

Ask to Meet Up

Once into the New Year, give a week or two before reaching back out. Normally, it’s best to follow up immediately; however, it is important to not bombard your contacts with messages and because USPS is a bit slower than normal this season, it’s possible they might not have received your card yet. Give a little space, but make sure to follow up!

Talk 2021 Goals

Be invested in your contacts. Not every person you contact will be looking for a home this month; however, continuing to build the relationship will do wonders for your business in the long term. Connecting and engaging in conversation also gives you talking points for the next time you reach out (make sure to jot down some notes after your meeting!).

Ultimately, if your contact is not in the market currently for a new home, continue to follow up quarterly. Start the conversation by asking how their new years goals are coming along. Not many people stick with their resolutions after the first month or two of the new year, so this will give them some extreme motivation to keep pushing along. Don’t be afraid to ask for referrals during meetings either. Business is built off of connections and trust.
